What to do first
For high-value homes, exotic vehicles, and collections, early documentation and the right sequence of steps can materially affect outcomes. Use the checklist below, then contact us so we can advocate on your behalf.
1) Ensure safety and prevent further damage
If there’s an immediate hazard, call emergency services. Take reasonable steps to mitigate additional loss (e.g., shut off water, secure the property, arrange temporary boarding).
2) Document the incident
Take photos/video, note dates/times, and keep receipts for emergency repairs or temporary accommodations. For theft, obtain a police report number.
3) Preserve evidence and avoid permanent repairs
Do not dispose of damaged items until advised. For specialty items (fine art, jewelry, high-end finishes), we can help coordinate appropriate restoration and appraisal.
4) Contact us to coordinate the claim
We’ll help you notify the insurer, confirm what information is needed, and ensure the claim is positioned accurately from the start.
